Cade Leed raises his sick younger sister, Amy Leed, on his own despite his young age. Though it breaks his heart, Cade has no choice but to put her up for adoption, hoping that a family with resources can provide the treatment she needs. Twenty years later, Cade falls into a coma after an accident, and his fiancée, Rue Kirk, cares for him tirelessly for five years, never giving up hope.
