For the sake of his childhood friends, Winona Shaw and Naomi Zabel, Frank Lovell gives up a prestigious opportunity to study abroad and chooses to attend the same university as them. But after they meet Calvin Gibbs, Winona and Naomi begin to misunderstand and neglect Frank, leaving him increasingly sidelined.
